2018 Swiss Avenue Mother’s Day Home Tour
45th Annual Tour
Mother’s Day Weekend – May 12th & 13th, 2018
Saturday 10AM-6PM, Sunday NOON-6PM, Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday 11AM-2PM
It’s one of Dallas’ most time-honored Springtime events. Come join us as we celebrate The 45th Annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. Happening this year, just as it does every year, on Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday, and Sunday, May 12th and 13th.
This weekend-long tribute to Dallas’ historic past will feature six of the city’s most fabulous Early 20th Century homes, an art fair, a vintage auto display, a children’s play area, live entertainment on the Avenue, free horse-drawn carriage rides, complimentary air-conditioned mini-coaches, freshly prepared food, ice-cold beverages, and much more.
Tickets go on sale for the 2018 Home Tour in early April. At that time, tickets can be purchased here on this page using our PayPal “Buy Now” Button, or at local area retails. A list of retailers selling Home Tour tickets will be updated to this page as they become available.
The homes on tour this year represent diverse variety of the Early 20th Century’s most popular architectural styles. Featured will be a romantic Spanish Revival, a massive Prairie Foursquare, a French Normandy manor house, a stately Colonial Georgian, an elegant Italianate Revival, a classic American Craftsman, and a charming pair of side-by-side Arts & Crafts Bungalows.
Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini coaches staffed by neighborhood tour guides who’ll share interesting facts, stories and details about The District. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the mini-coaches and carriages are provided at no charge, with our compliments.
When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served all throughout the weekend. On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.
